Across all strains, Cannabis sativa L. plants contain 120 identified terpene compounds. These terpenes exist within the resin found on hemp or marijuana flowers. The scent produced by the terpenes helps to determine the quality of each particular cannabis plant strain. It also influences taste, feel, and other senses affected by interaction with the plant or its by-products.
Under federal law, cannabis (from which both CBD and marijuana are derived) is illegal everywhere, although the laws against it aren’t generally enforced in states that have legalized marijuana. Some manufacturers claim that CBD culled from legally imported industrial hemp, which has little to no THC, is fine to ship across the U.S., but many experts disagree, noting that because hemp comes from the same species as marijuana, cannabis sativa, all CBD falls under the DEA’s Schedule 1 designation. “This creative interpretation of the law runs afoul of reality,” says the Brookings Institution, a Washington, DC, think tank.
Over decades, researchers have found that THC may help treat pain, nausea, loss of appetite and other problems, while CBD was thought to be biologically inactive in humans. But in the past 10 years, scientists have concluded that CBD may be quite useful. Dozens of studies have found evidence that the compound can treat epilepsy as well as a range of other illnesses, including anxiety, schizophrenia, heart disease and cancer.

On Apr. 30, 2015, Gov. Mary Fallon signed CBD legislation into law. “This bill will help get sick children potentially life-changing medicine,” Fallin started. “By crafting the legislation in a way that allows for tightly controlled medical studies, we can ensure we are researching possible treatments in a responsible and scientific way. It is not marijuana, and it is not anything that can make you high. This law has been narrowly crafted to support highly supervised medical trials for children with debilitating seizures."
In 2011, Governor Dennis Daugaard created a work group to help guide the long-term vision of the future of behavioral health services in South Dakota. The work group developed recommendations that include increasing access to services throughout the state; building the capacity of local communities; developing a strategic statewide prevention plan; and defining the role of the Human Services Center.

Hash oils seized in the 1970s had a THC contents ranging from 10 to 30%. The oil available on the U.S. West Coast in 1974 averaged about 15% THC.[2] Samples seized across the United States by the Drug Enforcement Administration over an 18-year period (1980–1997) showed that THC content in hashish and hashish oil averaging 12.9% and 17.4%, respectively, did not show an increase over time.[4] The highest THC concentrations measured were 52.9% in hashish and 47.0% in hash oil.[5] Hash oils in use in the 2010s had THC concentrations as high as 90%[6][7] and other products achieving higher concentrations [8]

Importantly, the farm bill also explicitly allows hemp-derived CBD products to cross state lines. These changes were followed by removal of hemp-derived CBD oil from the federal government’s Controlled Substances Act, meaning it has been decriminalized across the country at the federal level. That grants CBD privileges at the federal level refused, so far, to THC.

Hey Justin, after further research and consultation it looks like the law is still a little unclear. According to NWTimes, CBD is now legal; however the law further clarifies that the CBD must contain certification that it contains less than 0.3% THC and is derived from industrial-hemp and not marijuana. That said, CBD from industrial hemp is legal for recreational usage, while CBD derived from marijuana is still viewed under the same laws as marijuana.… Read more »
Word of Caution: Although this list clearly shows that cannabis essential oil can be an effective remedy for many common health conditions, it is still a potent chemical substance extracted from a plant with psychotropic substances. Therefore, you should always be very careful while using such an essential oil, including the amount you use and the conditions under which you use it. Speak to a professional about mixing essential oils and present medications before adding any new elements to your health regimen. Also, the use of cannabis is restricted/banned in many countries, so consult a local health specialist before use.
Interestingly, CBD oil protects the body against its own euphoric stimulant. An endogenous cannabinoid, Anandamide, is produced on demand by the human body. ‘Ananda’, in Sanskrit, means ‘bliss’. Anandamide, thus, creates a runner’s high, and this is regulated by Cannabidiol. Thus, we feel falsified pleasureless, on the use of cannabidiol or CBD oil.
The fatty acids contained in CBD hemp oil have an important vasodilation property and so clots are prevented from developing within the blood vessels. This is how another beneficial feature is added to this oil and it deals with supporting the skin’s layers to develop cellulitis. So why not give CBD hemp oil a try? You might find a perfect health ally in it. https://hlbenefits.com/cbd-pure-reviews/
Social influences have also been found to be important,[75] including abuse, neglect, bullying, social stress, traumatic events, and other negative or overwhelming life experiences. Aspects of the wider community have also been implicated,[72] including employment problems, socioeconomic inequality, lack of social cohesion, problems linked to migration, and features of particular societies and cultures. The specific risks and pathways to particular disorders are less clear, however.

While it’s true that CBD is legal in all 50 states, there are situations when it isn’t legal. The difference between legal and illegal typically depends on several important factors determined by the state in question. There is, however, one very important factor that is a crucial determinant across all states, and that is where the CBD is derived from–hemp or marijuana.
Industrial hemp contains, by weight, far less CBD than CBD-rich cultivars such as Harlequin or Sour Tsunami. This means that producing a single 10 mL dose of CBD would require the cultivation and extraction of far more hemp than it would from whole-plant marijuana; thus raising the risk of exposing users to more contaminants. Hemp is classified as a “bioaccumulator,” or a plant that naturally absorbs toxicants from the soil.
In the current market space is there much difference in cost, in bulk, between 99+% pure CBD from the different sources being discussed? IOW between high-cbd cannabis, and low-total-cannabinoid “industrial hemp”, and hemp grown for seeds not fiber? Extraction from high-cbd cannabis would seem easier as you have to work with less plant material per unit of end product, but then it costs a lot less per lb plant material to grow a huge field of hemp. So, how does it land these days?
CBD oil products can be somewhat expensive, which may be a barrier for individuals seeking treatment or relief from different conditions and disorders. cbdMD is a notable exception as far as price-point is concerned. cbdMD offers it’s premium, non-THC oils at a large variety of concentrations (300mg-5,000mg) as well as sizes (30mL and 60mL) . These oils are priced at $29.99 for 300mg oils and $99.99 for 1,500mg oils; these price-points are significantly below average.

It’s hard to weed out which are legitimate concerns and what is overblown, given the lack of objective clinical trials testing the relative effectiveness of the two sources of CBD. While skepticism towards the effectiveness of hemp-derived CBD seems to be prevalent in today’s market, the results among cannabis community members surveyed suggest that more research is necessary to come to a clear conclusion as to how it stacks up against marijuana-derived CBD and whether this skepticism is justified.

Conceptions of madness in the Middle Ages in Christian Europe were a mixture of the divine, diabolical, magical and humoral and transcendental.[125] In the early modern period, some people with mental disorders may have been victims of the witch-hunts. While not every witch and sorcerer accused were mentally ill, all mentally ill were considered to be witches or sorcerers.[126] At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, the mentally ill were increasingly admitted to local workhouses, jails and private madhouses by social justice advocates such as Dorothea Dix.[127] Many terms for mental disorder that found their way into everyday use first became popular in the 16th and 17th centuries.
